For Paul John, Kommune brought alive Kaarigari- an immersive experience rooted in the idea of craft as legacy. Inspired by the whisky’s ethos of patience and provenance, the evening wove together multiple art forms into a cohesive, sensory narrative.

  • The space itself reflected this spirit, layered with carved wood, Ikat, silk, and jute, alongside playful nods to Channapatna forms, creating an environment that felt both grounded and evocative.

  • The evening unfolded through a seamless collaboration between Priya Malik’s deeply emotive poetry and Mehtab Ali Niazi’s classical sitar, where words and music moved in quiet harmony.

  • Complementing the artists was a thoughtfully curated culinary experience, drawing from regional influences across Goa, Andhra Pradesh, and Bengal—bringing together familiar flavours with nuanced reinterpretations.
