IN TRANSIT

Five people sitting on a stage participating in a panel discussion with a large screen behind them displaying the words "WE'RE ALL A LITTLE in transit." Two women and three men are engaged in conversation, holding microphones, with posters and banners related to the event visible in the background.

Kommune’s City Chapters collaborated with Tiger Baby to take In Transit - a raw, moving docu-series by Tiger Baby and Amazon Prime Video  - across cities.

A series that traces trans and non-binary journeys across identity, love, and everything in between. Kommune brought these stories from screen to stage.with intimate screenings in Delhi and Mumbai, followed by community-led open mics where poetry, music, and personal narratives took centre stage.

KOMMUNE FILM CLUB

Started with the intention of bringing budding filmmakers and cinephiles onto one shared stage, Kommune Film Club was launched in 2025 by Kommune in collaboration with Tess Joseph Casting.

Curated by Tess Joseph, Gurpal Singh, and the team, the Film Club is a space dedicated to discovering and showcasing new voices in cinema. It brings together filmmakers and audiences who don’t just watch films, but truly live and breathe them.

Hosted every month in and around Aram Nagar, Andheri, Kommune Film Club screens a thoughtfully curated selection of short films - not just from Mumbai, but from across India. Each evening is an opportunity to experience fresh perspectives, engage in conversations over chai and snacks, and connect with a community bound by a deep love for cinema.

“Love this. Spaces like Kommune Film Club that don’t just screen films; but gather, listen, and hold stories are rare and needed. Also for anyone in front of the camera: confidence isn’t just performance, it’s how safe you feel in your own skin (and smile). See you at the next edition: excited for the conversation as much as the cinema.”
